All Hallows Read 2024 is in the books. It was great to see so many people out and we enjoyed discussing books with everyone. It’s always fun to have folks excited to see books they loved as a kid. Apparently the A to Z Mysteries were very popular a few years ago. Many a highschool and college age visitor chatted about them. Cam Jansen was also well loved.
The youngster who took “Mom the Werewolf and Me” was very excited. I missed seeing where “The Best of Dear Abby” went, but my sister was very pleased it was gone at the end of the night.
Overall we handed out 102 books to all ages. We did learn that the bigger books just aren’t going to go on Halloween, many an adult looked longingly at “The Dark Elf Trilogy” Collectors Edition and the “Magic of Xanth” omnibus but apparently lugging around a giant hardback and all your kids candy was too much for the average parent. When we get the library up I imagine both will be in circulation quickly.
Once again it was a wonderful evening and we look forward to doing it again next year.
